Sign up to speak to the Zoning Commission
After 5 long years, the D.C. zoning update process has reached the final stage! The Zoning Commission has released dates for a series of public hearing on the proposed update, and the commissioners need to hear hundreds of voices in support of a more walkable and inclusive city.
We believe the hearings will be first come, first served - which means that the earlier you sign up, the higher up on the meeting agenda you'll be - which is good for you and good for voicing positive support for the update!
Zoning Commission Hearing on Zoning Update
Tuesday, November 12, 2013 - 6:00pm (docket full: overflow signups will now be heard on Tuesday, November 19 - 6:00 pm)
Jerrily R. Kress Memorial Hearing Room at One Judiciary Square
441 4th Street, NW, Suite 220-S, Washington, DC 20001.
The hearings will start at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until all the witnesses are heard or the ZC decides to recess.
While meetings will occur almost every night over 2 weeks in November, we believe the most important hearing night is Tuesday,
November 12 November 19 starting at 6:00pm. This night, the Commission will hear input on significant reductions of parking minimums in areas with good transit service and in higher-density residential zones. While these proposals have been watered down from their original form (which elminated parking minimums in all areas served by reliable and regular transit), they're still a huge step forward in building a more sustainable city in the long term.
Sign up below to speak at the Tuesday,
November 12 November 19 meeting - spots will go fast.
