Dear Supporter,

Don't forget! This Thursday is a key opportunity for us to speak up to decision makers and tell them that the new Regional Medical Center should be located at a Metro station! We hope you'll join us at this Thursday's community meeting:

     February 28, 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex
     8001 Sheriff Road, Landover, MD
(map)

We hope you'll attend to urge the County Executive and state of Maryland to put the Regional Medical Center at a Metro station and follow through on their commitment to transit-oriented development.

For more background on the issue, check out this illuminating Washington Post story from earlier this month: Where will Prince George’s Hospital go?

Thanks, and we hope to see you this Thursday night!

Dear Supporter:

I'm writing to ask for your support on a very important issue – making sure Prince George’s new Regional Medical Center is located at a Metro station.

I hope you'll sign our petition and attend the upcoming community meeting on February 28.

Working with other Prince George’s community leaders, the Coalition for Smarter Growth has advocated on this issue vigorously over the last year to leverage the most competitive healthcare benefits and economic development opportunities that the Regional Medical Center can offer.

Together, we can push for design and location that does the most to support the development of vibrant, healthy communities.

Prince George's County and Maryland leaders say that bringing jobs to the areas around Metro stations is one of their top priorities. They can follow through on this promise by making sure that the $650 million regional medical center planned for the county lands at a Metro site. With a final decision on the location coming soon, it’s critical to show county officials the level of community support for placing the Regional Medical Center at a Metro station.

Come to the community meeting on where to locate the new Regional Medical Center:

I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have – please feel free to contact me. Also check out these case studies of successful medical centers from around the country and beyond that offer models for how Prince George's can build a world-class medical center.

Sincerely,

Cheryl
