Dear Supporter,
The road building lobby thinks they've finally won. Now that Richmond's passed a transportation funding package, they believe they have everything they need to make the Outer Beltway - or Bi-County Parkway, or Battlefield Bypass - whatever they're calling it today, inevitable.
Prince William residents are plenty mad - and you will be too when you see how much new traffic the highway would generate. Reading the Washington Post this morning, you'd think that the Battlefield Bypass is a done deal. But you and I know that doesn't have to be the case.
Organized citizens in opposition to this sprawl-engine of a highway project still have the opportunity to make a difference. Join the Coalition for Smarter Growth and Sierra Club on Monday night to learn how.

At the meeting, we'll discuss how the Outer Beltway would affect traffic in the region, the impacts on our property and communities, how much new land the project would open to new development, and how many new commuters we can expect on I-66, Route 50, and other major routes.
Can't make Monday's meeting? Our friends at the Piedmont Environmental Council are holding an additional meeting on March 18 in Ashburn.
See you there!
Aimee
