Religious Action Center Fellowship in Israel 2014-2015
Mark and Peachy Levy Fellow Application for 2014-2015
The Israel Religious Action Center in Jerusalem, in partnership with the Religious Action Center in Washington, D.C., is looking for a talented North American recent college graduate interested in spending 10 months working for one of Israel's largest social change organizations. The Mark and Peachy Levy Fellow in Israel provides an opportunity to work at the Israel Religious Action Center, where you will learn about many of the challenges facing Israel today and take an active role in IRAC’s efforts to build a more tolerant, just, and pluralistic Israeli society.
The Fellow will be an integral staff person responsible for communicating IRAC’s vision and current activities to the Diaspora by participating in the creation of IRAC’s newsletters and press releases, as well as managing IRAC's English website and social media. This also includes petitions and letter writing campaigns, blogs, issue papers, and presentations of IRAC's legal and advocacy work.
The Fellow serves as a bridge between IRAC and the Diaspora Jewish community, sharing information from Jerusalem and providing opportunities for others to get involved. The Fellow is also encouraged to create his/her own projects for IRAC as a member of the Development and Overseas Relations Department.
The Fellowship lasts for 10 months, from September through June. The Fellow will work from approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., five days a week and receive a monthly stipend of $1,000. Housing will not be provided, however, we can offer guidance to living in Jerusalem.
The Fellow will also have the opportunity to observe IRAC’s lawyers arguing in the Supreme Court and lobbying in the Knesset, and participate in all IRAC activism opportunities.
