Show Your Support for Limits on Carbon Pollution!
In June 2014, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced carbon pollution standards to set the first-ever limits on carbon dioxide (CO2) from existing fossil-fueled power plants. Carbon pollution fuels costly, even deadly, extreme weather events and worsens air quality resulting in more asthma attacks, heat-related deaths and respiratory complications. Carbon pollution also contributes to warmer temperatures which is speeding the spread of infectious diseases. Both extreme weather events and the aforementioned range of health threats have a disproportionate impact on vulnerable communities here in the Southeast, most notably children, the elderly, communities of color and low-income residents.
Please take a minute now to send a message to the EPA to show you support the proposed rule to limit harmful carbon pollution from existing power plants by sending in comments today.
