Tell Congress to Save Wind Energy Jobs, Extend the PTC and ITC
At the end of this year, vital tax credits provided to the wind industry are set to expire. The production tax credit (PTC) and investment tax credit (ITC) have helped create a predictable marketplace for wind energy development across the country. Over 50,000 megawatts of wind energy capacity have already been installed nationwide – enough to power more than 10 million homes--and the industry has created 75,000 American jobs. But with the uncertainty surrounding the PTC and ITC, companies working in the wind industry are already laying off thousands of workers nationwide.
Submit a letter using the form below, and tell Congress to extend the production and investment tax credits for the wind industry!
Allowing the PTC and ITC to expire (as they are scheduled to in December 2012) would further slow an already-struggling economy. On the other hand, extending them would catalyze domestic job creation, research, manufacturing, and construction and preserve the thousands of wind-related jobs here in the Southeast.
