We welcome individual and team players as long as one adult accompanies each group.
How is a team formed?
By you! Reach out to your friends and get a team together to hunt for clues.
How big can a team be?
We recommend teams be limited to a maximum of 4 children given that one adult is in charge.
How small can a team be?
Teams can be as small as one child accompanied by an adult.
Does a parent have to lead a team?
One adult is needed to oversee each team.
Do teams have to be organized by school?
We encourage schools to get involved by inviting parents to organize their children/children’s friends into teams, but this is an outreach effort rather than a requirement.
How many teams can a school field?
Each school can field as many as each would like, as long as there is one adult per team.
What if my friends go to different schools?
That’s OK. We encourage teams to be made up of any configuration of children, both age-wise and school-wise.
When does the scavenger hunt begin?
Doors open for the Family Event at 5:00 p.m., but the scavenger hunt has a rolling start. Your team or you individually may begin the hunt as soon as you’re all assembled.
Do all team members have to be present to begin?
If you’d like to hunt for clues together we recommend you wait for your teammates to arrive. Alternatively, you can start without a teammate and he/she can join you midway through the hunt. Just make sure he/she can get in touch with you as you’re searching for clues throughout the library.
Is there a winner?
Given the rolling start, there is no winner. You’ll have a lot of fun though.
How do we register?
Register online by clicking here.
Does my team have to register as one to be recognized as a team?
