Stop the Alabama Beachfront Boondoggle

Two years ago BP promised $1 billion dollars for early restoration to kickstart the recovery of the natural resources damaged by their oil. Recently, the Gulf states announced a new round of projects that they intend to fund with these early restoration dollars from the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA).  Some of these new  projects seem less focused on restoring natural resources and more focused on economic development. In fact, projects like Alabama's proposal to build a hotel and conference center in a state park are likely to cause more harm to the environment.

Tell the NRDA Trustees that investing restoration dollars in the environment will restore the economy.
