Youth Caucus at the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference

On February 9 at 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the BlueGreen Alliance will host an event featuring a diverse group of young people from across the youth justice movement who will be meeting to create a unified vision for our future. Through panels, workshops and breakouts, the Youth Caucus at Good Jobs, Green Jobs will create partnerships and relationships that defy the silos we often find ourselves working under. Our vision is an equitable future for all.

The convergence is a first step in making this vision a reality. We have a unique opportunity as young people to build bridges across our organizations to create a strong, fair economy that does not sacrifice our environment and creates and maintains good jobs. The Youth  Caucus at Good Jobs, Green Jobs is a convergence of youth labor, justice and environmental organizations and partners working to ensure a more just future.

This day of youth-led workshops and breakout sessions will lead to long-term collaboration and understanding among young people in both organized labor and the environmental movement. This will lead us to achieve forward thinking policies that support infrastructure investment, family supporting jobs, climate resilient communities and positive impacts on climate change. The sessions at the Youth Caucus will not just lead to long-term collaboration, but will immediately prepare participants to engage at the main Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference on February 10th and 11th.

NOTE: Registering for this event is separate from the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference registration. Admission and registration for the Youth Caucus is free. Participants of the Youth Caucus will have access to a special discounted rate of $75 for overall Conference registration.
