2013 O'Grady Institute - Jerusalem - January 2013
Explore the foundations of charity in the Catholic tradition
The O'Grady Institute provides a continuum of formation opportunities for diocesan directors of Catholic Charities agencies. Through advanced study and reflection on Scripture, history and theology, diocesan directors are provided an array of opportunities to form their hearts and strengthen their dedication to help Christ-in-need experience the richness of their humanity.
Open to: All Diocesan Directors
Catholic Charities USA will be hosting the first delegation to Jerusalem. This ten-day institute takes participants to Israel and Palestine for studies in Scripture, history, and theology. Participants join Caritas Jerusalem and Catholic Relief Services on visits to local projects to provide a better understanding of the Church’s international work. Local presenters will provide briefings on the economic, social and political realities of the region. Father Don Senor, President of Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and a renowned scripture scholar, joins the delegation, providing valuable insight into sacred locations.
For participants, pre- and post-reflection papers are required. Credits are available.
For those who are interested, CCUSA is also planning a four-day trip to Jordan. Participants will visit important religious sites, Petra and the Dead Sea.
