2013 Applied Institute for Disaster Excellence (AIDE)
Catholic Charities USA invites you to the annual Applied Institute for Disaster Excellence (AIDE)!
- Disaster 101: Foundations in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Appropriate for staff with limited formal training in disaster strategies.
- Disaster 201: Builds upon the CCUSA semi-annual Disaster Preparedness and Response Training (formerly held) and Disaster 101 track. Appropriate for staff who have been formally trained by CCUSA in disaster strategies.
- Diocesan: Equips diocesan or parish-ministry based staff for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery strategies specific to the unique needs of dioceses and parishes.
This hands-on disaster preparedness, response and recovery training is recommended for all Catholic Charities agency staff, including programmatic staff and agency directors, Diocesan staff and other personnel designated as having a role in disaster activities. This is also open to Parish staff and partner agency members (ex. Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul).

This year AIDE will take place at Holy Name Retreat Center in Houston, TX (http://www.passionist.org/holyname). Your registration fee covers room and board. AIDE will begin at 2:00 PM Central on Monday, October 14th, and conclude at 12:00 PM Central on Friday, October 18th. Please make your travel plans accordingly.Participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements at their own expense to and from the Retreat Center.
